Over the years, I’ve written a lot of songs about chasing dreams, long nights, and trying to make something of myself. But this album… this one came from a different place.
It came from growing up.
Not all at once, but in the ways life slowly teaches you.
Through falling in love.
Through saying “I do.”
Through holding your child for the very first time and feeling something shift inside you.
Through finding your faith.
Through life altering changes realizing they NEEDED TO HAPPEN.
Through ultimatums.
Through lessons.
Through laughter and tears.
Through prayer
Through late nights and early mornings.
“THIS SIDE OF HEAVEN” is my way of trying to put those feelings into words.
It’s less about the chase, and more about what I’ve found along the way.
Some songs came from late nights alone in the studio, just me and a guitar.
Others came from conversations with God when I wasn’t even sure what to say.
A few were born from moments when the house was quiet, and I was holding my daughter thinking… this is what really matters.
The older I get, the more I write about life instead of running from it.
About love instead of longing for it.
About family, faith, and the kind of peace that doesn’t need volume to be heard.
This album isn’t perfect.
It’s not meant to be.
It’s honest.
It’s where I am right now, somewhere between who I was and who I’m becoming.
