Playing Real Songs To Real People

Why it works?

In the early years of Jon’s career, after trying out a few smaller projects and band lineups, one thing became clear, he didn’t just want to play music on occasion. He wanted to live it. Night after night. Town after town. Any bar, backyard, field, or parking lot that would have him.

No production needed. No fancy lights. No polished stage setups.

Just a bunch of good ol’ boys with guitars, playing real songs to real people who needed to hear them.

That’s how The Swamp Boys started.

As the mission grew, Jon met someone who shared the exact same vision Dustin Stout, lead guitar player of The Swamp Boys and now one of Jon’s closest friends. One late night at their local watering hole, after a simple “So… are we really gonna do this?” conversation, the fire was lit.

And they’ve been doing it ever since.

Only difference now?
The small places they started in can’t always hold the crowd anymore.

Good.

Because the vision hasn’t changed.

“We’re not here for big productions or stage-light theatrics. We’re here to play real music for real people. If a front-of-house guy tells us to turn our amps down… not gonna happen, dude. They need to FEEL it”

The Swamp Boys have grown into one of New York State’s most active and respected live cover bands, not by chasing perfection, but by chasing connection. They bring high-energy sets with a salt-of-the-earth approach, honoring the songs people love with just the right touch of grit and sincerity.

From dive bars to outdoor festivals, county fairs to barns and back porches—the venue never mattered. The people always did.

And that’s why it works.
